Back in 1999, JDaniels came to Shon Bacon with an idea of creating an online e-zine where they could showcase their writing and also writings of other aspiring black writers. They started with Black Satin Sheets but after a month, they decided to open up the gates for ALL writings of the black experience, and thus, THE NUBIAN CHRONICLES was born in November of 1999.

It began with only four staffers, Shon Bacon, JDaniels, Kat Lavache, and Miguel Wilder. Through the years, staffers have come and gone, but what has stayed constant is the mega-talent that TNC publishes in each issue.

Our latest TNC columnists are Stacey Tolbert (column:  The Living Room), Matthew Lynch (column:  Matthew's Musings), and Dedan Tolbert (column:  Ask Dedan).

TNC began because the founders had a love for writing, and it continues because they have found that there are thousands of other African Americans who share in their love.

TNC is offered quarterly in winter, spring, summer, and fall issues.  Every issue is HOT and packed with columns such as an online cyber drama, showcases for Nubian writers in poetry and stories, articles, and commentaries on issues affecting black men and women, interviews with black authors, and much more.
